〈空白之人〉2018-2020

我請了一位舉牌臨時工，在平時舉牌工作地點，舉著空白的立牌。

日薪1200，實拿800 元，午餐時間休息一小時，每小時休息十分鐘。

舉牌臨時工，工作內容為舉著政治宣傳、建案廣告、方向指引等立牌，一天八小時，人的存在以功能性（身份）方式使廣告、立牌不被取締。我請了一位舉牌臨時工，在平時舉牌工作地點，舉著空白的立牌。選擇類行車記錄器的鏡位，使觀者有一種“即將有事發生”的專注，卻似乎沒事發生；觀看在資訊飽和的時代已成掃描模式，觀者“瞥見”的是一個舉著空白之人，希望這個空白，能在日常中製造有別於資訊性的觀看，進而感受其無力的訴求。

Daily salary of $1,200, actual pay of $800, one hour lunch break, rest for 10 minutes after 1 hour working. Billboards holding temporary workers, lifting billboards of political propaganda, construction commercial, direction sign, etc., for 8 hours a day, they are just standing here to prevent the billboard get banned by the police. I hired one of them, holding a blank board at the spot they work before. When recording I made my frame looks like a dash cam, let people feel like something is going to happen, but in fact nothing happened. Seeing in nowadays is more like scanning, I hope this blank billboard can make viewers see it other than just browsing, and feel the helpless of these workers.

視覺形式｜

A.展場的報紙(自由時報)，每天會更換焦點新聞，將有「舉」的物件或「抗爭」之物件以立可白塗去。

B.展期間之週末請臨時工（舉牌人）於展場取立牌（投影物）至離展間1km之定點工作。

C.點工單在牛仔褲右邊口袋內並裝置於牆面。

D.保力達B在展場角落。

Note:

A. The newspaper (Liberty Times) at the exhibition will feature daily changing headlines, where objects of “elevation” or items of “resistance” will be covered with white paint.

B. During weekends throughout the exhibition period, temporary workers (sign holders) will be stationed at a designated location 1km away from the exhibition space, holding up signs.

C. The work order is placed inside the right pocket of a pair of jeans and installed on the wall.

D. Paolyta-B(A unique medicinal alcoholic drink representing Taiwan’s working class) is located in the corner of the exhibition space.
